“The Cantabileers" Present Spring Choral Concert at Montana Western

UMW Press Release:

The Cantabileers, the University of Montana Western’s select choral group, will host a free performance on Tuesday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Beier Auditorium.

The ensemble, which is also an experiential music class at Montana Western, highlights students in leadership roles every step of the way. Spending the semester working on the selected literature for this concert performance, music majors and non-majors alike collaborate and conduct.

The evening’s performance will include ensemble pieces, duets, and solos, showcasing the students’ individual and collective talents. Susie Steadman will accompany the group on piano.

“The Cantabileers are particularly excited to share some original compositions, as well as other pieces that the group has found meaningful, interesting, and fun,” said the group’s Director, Dr. Debbie Seacrest.

“Being a member of the Montana Western Cantabileers has been one of the best parts of my whole college experience! The group creates a uniquely student-driven environment that encourages friendly collaboration with fellow musicians and gives the opportunity not only to sing, but also to arrange, accompany, and even conduct. This choir truly is something special,” said UMW student, Johnny Reedy.
