Police Searching For Firecracker Bandits

Saturday, July 20th police received calls of multiple gun shots. Police began looking for the cause of the noise in the vicinity around walnut and vine street. Reports came in also of people throwing fireworks out of cars and both mixed reports of gunshots. The reports came in from various locations throughout town.

 


Police were never able to locate the vehicle but believed it was fireworks being thrown from the vehicle as it traveled throughout town and outside of city limits.

 

The police are looking for the individuals involved and ask the public if they have any information to please contact them.



As a reminder the fire danger is at extreme, and this could have turned into something much more serious.

On July 20, 2024 through the early hours of July 21 the Dillon Police received several calls of possible gun shots or fireworks around town. Later a caller stated it appeared to be fireworks being shot from a vehicle.


At this time we were unable to locate the vehicle. It’s is extremely dry and very dangerous to shoot fireworks from a moving vehicle.
