DILLON, Mont. – The Montana Western men's basketball team (10-7) fell to No. 11 Montana Tech (15-2) this evening, 69-47.
Abi Adedo led the Bulldogs with a game-high 18 points.
How It Happened
Adedo set the tone for the Bulldogs in the first half, scoring 11 points and pulling down three rebounds. Alan Kane added four rebounds, while Kyle Gruhler contributed five boards.
Despite competitive rebounding, Montana Western struggled offensively, shooting just 36.4% from the field and 25% from three-point range in the first half.
Montana Tech capitalized on nine Bulldog turnovers and shot 42.9% from beyond the arc to take a 10-point lead into halftime.
The Orediggers opened the second half by extending their lead to 17 points. However, Western responded with a 12-1 run, cutting the deficit to 40-34 with ten minutes remaining.
From there, Western struggled to maintain momentum, shooting 2-of-10 from three-point range in the second half.
Montana Tech sealed the win shooting 50% from the field and 6-of-10 from beyond the arc after halftime.
Notables
Kyle Gruhler finished with 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Alan Kane contributed eight points, four rebounds, and three assists.
The Bulldogs shot just 3-of-14 (21.4%) from three-point range.
Montana Tech shot 45% (9-of-20) from beyond the arc.
The Orediggers had four players score in double digits.
