Brewer Runs For Qualifying Time At Tom Gage Invite

The Bulldog Track & Field team competed in their final meet of the

season at the Tom Gage Invite in Bozeman, Mont. Taya Brewer ran the 10,000m in a time of

37:55.41 after the altitude conversion, qualifying herself for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field

Championships.

“I am super happy for Taya to qualify for Nationals. She ran really gutty to get the time. It was a tough meet otherwise but I am very happy to take the opportunity to race very good competition. We are looking forward to nationals and the fall season with some really big goals.” Head Coach Dylan Zitzer said after the meet.

Highlights

Taya Brewer ran the 10,000m race with a time under the B standard, qualifying her to compete in the NAIA Track & Field Championships.

Cecily Eagleton finished in second in the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 13:27.28.

Joe Lamb and Carlin Onstad competed in the Men’s 1500m run. Lamb recorded a time of

4:23.81 and Onstad recorded a time of 4:33.31.

Araceli Ramirez finished the Women’s 1500m run in a time of 5:17.60.

In the Women’s 5000m race, Liz Varner finished in fifth place with a time of 20:07.73. Tahja

Hunt finished in seventh place with a time of 22:27.75.

Will Hyatt and Brant Heiner raced in the Men’s 5000m run. Hyatt finished with a time of

16:27.39 and Heiner finished with a time of 16:34.18.

Brewer will be preparing to travel to the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships that will

be in Marian, Ind. from May 25 through May 27.
