Beaverhead County Beavers Fall To Laurel Locomotives Despite Strong Hitting Performance

DILLON, MT – In a surprising turn of events, the Beaverhead County Varsity Beavers - MHSA collected five hits against the Laurel Locomotives Varsity 2025 but still fell short, losing the game 3-1 on Saturday.


Trenton Moreni, Kanin Engelhardt, Jase Alvarez, Sawyer Tackett, and Cohen Hartman each contributed a hit for the Beavers, demonstrating a strong offensive effort.


Both teams showcased solid pitching, with the Laurel Locomotives’ pitchers striking out seven batters while the Beavers recorded six strikeouts in response.


Laurel was the first to score, taking the lead in the top of the third inning when Eric Haus hit a sacrifice fly and Dallas Jackson lined out, each contributing one run to the scoreboard.



Will Hansen started on the mound for the Beaverhead County Beavers, surrendering no hits and two runs (none earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four batters and walking two. Mason Wilson earned the win for the Locomotives, allowing five hits and just one run over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.


Cohen Hartman led the Beavers with one run batted in, finishing the game 1-for-3. The Beavers also executed one double play during the matchup, showcasing their defensive skills.



For Laurel, Eric Haus stood out with one RBI, and the team displayed strong defense by not committing a single error, with Dallas Jackson handling the most chances in the field with nine.


The Beaverhead County Beavers will look to bounce back as they prepare to face the Butte Central Catholic Varsity Maroons this Thursday.
