Sunday, July 4th

Big Hole Valley, 4th of July Celebration Fourth of July is a special time of year for all the United States, but not anywhere more so than here in the Big Hole Valley.

The morning is started off early with a flag raising ceremony at 6:15 AM, then a free pancake breakfast follows at The Crossing Bar & Grill on the main street through down town Wisdom. This year our Patriotic Speaker will be Danielle Coon. (Army National Guard Veteran, Fire Fighter, Mother, Big Hole Valley ranching family).

After breakfast, the locals get their horses, and tractors, and their buggies, and their kids, and all go out to enjoy the annual Wisdom Fourth of July Parade. During the parade much candy and other goodies are tossed to the crowds of children watching by the parade participants. A lot of people dress in red/white/and blue to honor old glory. The parade will start at 10:00 AM. Entry in the parade is free, so if you want to be in the parade meet behind Larry’s Automotive by 9:30 am.

After the parade we have a fund raiser Bar-b-que to benefit our local Volunteer Fire Departments and EMT/Ambulance crews. Hamburger's and hot dogs hot off the grill, along with many other side dishes served "potluck" style is sure to fill you up. The Bar-b-que will be held at the Masonic Temple, located just behind the Pintler Gas station. Cost is a donation to the host organizations.

Returning this year is the Big Hole Valley Fireworks Celebration. The festivities will start at 8:00 PM at the Wisdom Airport, about a mile out of town on Hwy 278. Country music, a bon fire and a softball game will be part of the fun. Bring your own BBQ food items and beverages if you wish. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at dark (around 10:30 PM). For questions you can call the Crossing at 406-689-3260. Please no personal fireworks at the event due to liability issues.

Welcome to the Big Hole... We would love to have you join us for this community event!

Annual July 4th Pancake Breakfast Grasshopper Valley Volunteer Fire Department is happy to be able to hold its Annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser again this year. We are extremely proud of our Fire and EMS volunteers who put in countless hours training and preparing for emergencies in the area. In conjunction with the breakfast, the Grasshopper Valley Ladies Club will again hold their bake sale and Dave Borjas will sell his one of a kind fishing flies. Proceeds will benefit GVVFD and donations are appreciated. Please join us from 8-11am at the Fire Hall in Polaris to support the Grasshopper Valley Volunteer Fire Department, get to know our volunteers and celebrate Independence Day with us.
