Can it already be the end of June? With the 4th of July right around the corner and so much going on in and around Southwestern Montana we decided to include everything we could find in one handy spot. The 4th of July Rundown.



Thursday, June 29th

Music on Main Music on Main is back for another season on the original block between Park and Broadway!! Check out the 2023 schedule! We will be doing $5 in food coupons for the first 60 kids ages 12 and under, sponsored by TDS Telecom. Bring a towel for the kids and bring a lawn chair for yourself! PLEASE, NO pets, NO coolers, and NO backpacks.

Pint Night- Anaconda Celebrations United Veterans Organization We are responsible for providing a wonderful 4th of July Fireworks show to the community of Anaconda. Please come show your support!


Music in the Park – Ennis We will be playing at Peter T’s Park on Main Street in the middle of Ennis on June 29th from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. We will be the first of nine performances in the Ennis Chamber Of Commerce “ Music in the Park” Summer Series that runs each Thursday from June 29th to Aug 17th..

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets or table cloths, a picnic dinner, and family and friends! Enjoy an early evening in Ennis with dinner on the ground and enjoy some great toe tapping music from Left For Dead.



Twin Bridges Bluegrass Festival The first annual Twin Bridges Bluegrass Festival, held in Twin Bridges, Montana, at the Madison County Fairgrounds. Gates open for camping at 0800 on Wednesday, June 28th, and you are welcome to stay through Monday morning, July 3rd. There will be 10+ bands playing music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, food and craft vendors, a building for folks to set up in who would like to sew or quilt, and if we can get 20 people to sign up, there will be a horseshoe tournament on Saturday morning. Folks are highly encouraged to jam as much as possible, and there will be 2 buildings available as pickin' sheds for nighttime jams, should folks want to use them. If you like trout fishing, the Beaverhead River runs right along the edge of the fairgrounds, and town is located just across the river. The fairgrounds are located right off Hwy 41, and are 1/2 hour from Dillon and I15, 1 hour from Butte, and 1 1/2 hours away from Bozeman. This will be a wonderful family event, and we sure hope to see you there.

Classic Car and Motorcycle Cruise-In The Sheridan Cruise-In is back!

CLASSIC CARS AND MOTORCYCLE - MUSIC - FOOD - FARMERS MARKET AND LOTS OF FAMILY FUN! Come show off your classic cars or motorcycles every Thursday and enjoy an evening in our beautiful town of Sheridan, MT. Whether you are interested in cars or just a passer-by, come hang with us! This is a free event to all. Please pass on the good word and we look forward to lining Main Street with some old time classics!

Tai Chi - free classes Tai Chi (tie chee) meets on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. It is a gentle form of ancient Chinese exercise that was originally developed for self-defense (with rapid moves), but has evolved into what some call "meditation in motion." If you want to reduce stress and anxiety, while increasing flexibility and balance, come join this class. No charge.

Join local poet, essayist, and conservationist Alan Weltzien for a stroll up to Agnes and Rainbow Lakes, two subalpine jewels beneath the East Pioneers crest. We’ll make this stroll more meaningful with two activities. First, we’ll do some campsite cleanup and restoration in conjunction with the “Visit with Respect” initiative of the Southwestern Wildlands Chapter. Second, Alan will provide writing prompts for some lakeside journaling.

*If waitlisted, we'll reach out to let you know if other registrants drop out. This happens quite frequently, so don't hesitate to sign up for a waitlist!

Tuesday, July 4th

Big Hole Valley, 4th of July Celebration Fourth of July is a special time of year for all the United States, but not anywhere more so than here in the Big Hole Valley.

The morning is started off early with a flag raising ceremony at 6:15 AM, then a free pancake breakfast follows at Fetty’s on the Main Street, down town Wisdom. The veteran speaker for the 4th of July Sunrise Flag Raising event at 6:15 am at Fetty’s will be Josh Heiland, SFC US Army Retired, July 1998-August 2018, & Mary Thomas US Army, Military Police, Specialist 4th Class, Honorable Discharge 1976.

After breakfast, the locals get their horses, and tractors, and their buggies, and their kids, and all go out to enjoy the annual Wisdom Fourth of July Parade. A lot of people dress in red/white/and blue to honor old glory. The parade will start at 10:00 AM. Entry in the parade is free, so if you want to be in the parade meet behind Larry’s Automotive by 9:30 am.

After the parade this year we will have a fund raiser BBQ Cookoff with all the fixins served "potluck" style, which is sure to fill you up. The BBQ will be held at the Katie Joe Coon Park next to the Masonic Temple, located just behind the Pintler Gas station. Food starts around 11:30 am.

Returning this year is the Big Hole Valley Fireworks Celebration. The festivities will start at 8:00 PM at the Wisdom Airport, about a mile out of town on Hwy 278. Country music, a bon fire and a softball game will be part of the fun. Bring your own BBQ food items and beverages if you wish. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at dark (around 10:30 PM). Donations for the Fireworks show are being requested! You can Mail a check to BHva PO Box 193, Wisdom, MT 59761. Donation boxes are available as well at the businesses in Wisdom and Jackson. Please no personal fireworks at the event due to liability issues.

Annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast Grasshopper Valley Volunteer Fire Department invites you to join them for the Annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser. The Fire and EMS volunteers have put in countless hours of training and preparing for emergencies in the area. In conjunction with the breakfast, the Grasshopper Valley Ladies Club will again hold their bake sale and there will be a Silent Auction. Proceeds will benefit GVVFD and donations are appreciated. Please join us from 8-11am at the Fire Station in Polaris to support the Grasshopper Valley Volunteer Fire Department, get to know our volunteers and celebrate Independence Day.

Peggy Birkenbuel Memorial - Firecracker 5K FUN RUN Peggy Birkenbuel Memorial Firecracker 5K is a FUN RUN that will start and finish at Beaverhead Brewing Company. The route will be the Run The Brew Route that follows E. Reeder St. to 10 Mile Road. We will turn around just past Smith Stables on the Beaverhead River.

This is a Fun Run to remember Peggy Birkenbuel. Join in on the fun and then have a couple beverages at the brewery. NO ENTRY FEE! Come run for fun and celebrate Peggy!


4th of July Airshow Come to the Ennis Airshow from 2:00-3:00PM on July 4th. The Event is completely free! This event will be after the famous Ennis parade and before the Rodeo! Come to Ennis for the whole day or come by to experience the airshow!

Story Time at the Village The Early Childhood Coalition of Beaverhead County is pleased to partner with the Dillon Public Library to offer a second session of Books and Babies each week in the Village Playspace. Each week, we offer a FREE short story and singing program followed by free play in the playspace!



An Intimate Fourth of July Spectacular Celebrate the holiday in an elegant, one-of-a-kind majestic and historic setting with arguably the most spectacular view of the Virginia City fireworks show with a Virginia City backdrop. Enjoy live music by Kevin Keith with his Chapman Stick, and Secret Service catered appetizers and cocktails. Wander four floors of fine art gallery exhibitions, including a powerful and rare curation of mural and smaller works by Nancy Good of Las Vegas, and shop a unique silent auction.

This is a relaxing, limited seating event designed for maximum enjoyment away from the crowds. Virginia City is well known for incredible fireworks, in addition to the history and culture. The St. Mary's Art Center property is located at the base of town with a truly magical view of Virginia City as a backdrop and epic view of the fireworks.

We also have 14 guest rooms available for those looking for a longer stay in Virginia City, reservations required or confirmed day of event. Guest rooms and memberships may be added at checkout.
